About Brecon

Brecon is a historic market town situated at the foot of the Brecon Beacons within the Brecon Beacons National Park, an area of outstanding natural beauty. The scenery is both beautiful and diverse from impressive mountain tops such as Pen-Y-Fan which is the highest peak in Southern Britain, to rolling countryside, forests, lakes and waterfalls. Brecon has some excellent Primary Schools, a Secondary School, Coleg Powys for further education and Christ College, a private boarding school for girls and boys aged 7-18 which was founded by King Henry VIII. In a central location it has good road links and is only an hour’s drive from Cardiff, Swansea, Hereford and the Severn Bridge. The nearest train station is in Abergavenny which a thirty minute drive. All of this provides high quality lifestyles and tempts many to visit, relocate and stay in the area.
