Meet the team

David is married to Kathryn and they have three children Helen, Oliver and Emily. Originally from Abergavenny, they moved to Brecon in 1982 where they started their own estate agency business, David James in 1986. In 2007 they merged with Adam Dean to form James Dean.David is passionate about his job and to make him feel old, he now works with two of his children, Oliver and Emily. A family man, he loves spending time with his Grandchildren as well as playing golf, 5 a-side football twice a week and running with the dog.

Emily is a Chartered Surveyor and Registered Valuer. She too is a keen sportswoman with a particular passion for hockey. Unfortunately plagued by dodgy knees and six knee operations later, shes taken early retirement but was previously captain of Wales at age grade, competing in Home Nations and European Cups. Emily is very competitive, loves socialising, playing the piano and is always thinking about her next meal.

Oliver studied Business in Property and ‘having a good time’ at Bristol before joining the family firm. He is married to Tammy and they have two very busy boys, Chester and Ovie, who are already keen to join the business. Oliver is a keen sportsman and enjoys socialising. He sounds just like his Dad on the phone, so be careful who you are talking to.

Adam is one of the older partners of James Dean having been in practice within the Mid Wales area for some 40 years. He is a Fellow of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors, member of Institute of Revenues, Rating and Valuation and a Domestic Energy Assessor. He is responsible for the survey, valuation and professional side for James Dean. Married with two grown up children and living locally he enjoys his golf which involves mostly looking for lost balls.

Kathryn is married to David and is funnily enough the mother of Helen, Oliver and Emily. She met David when they both worked for an estate agent in Abergavenny and she comes from a large local family having ten brothers and sisters! She is a great cook keeping them all fed and watered, enjoys singing and can be seen around the town walking their dog Ralph.

Gwen is a local farmer’s daughter, married to Roger and his motor bike. She has worked with David for an impressive 30 years and has officially become his work wife. She has a great sense of humour and is a huge Welsh rugby fan. The office is always quieter when she has time off, which isn’t very often although she has started to enjoy a Mediterranean cruise.

Victoria joined James Dean in 2010 and has become a vital member of the team. Previously a Williams, she married Martin in 2017. She is always out and about with friends sampling the local tipples and has become queen of the cupcakes. She currently lives in Sennybridge and was an active member of YFC before she became too old (sorry Vic). Vicky is very kind and calm which is perfect when dealing with a busy lettings department.

Kate studied at Cardiff University where she graduated with a degree in business management. Within 6 months of graduating Kate started her career in estate agency and has never looked back. She has passed her MNAEA sales qualification, and is looking forward to furthering her qualifications in estate agency. Outside of work Kate enjoys spending time with her family and friends, adding to her extensive clothes collection and trying to stay fit in the gym!

Hywel was born and raised in Abergavenny. After studying at University, then travelling the world, he decided he missed the hills of Wales and so moved back. Hywel has a wealth of experience in sales & customer service and brings a lot of knowledge of the local area. When not in the office, he loves walking, running and cycling through the beautiful local countryside. Together with Oliver, Hywel is based in the newest branch of James Dean in Abergavenny and is excited to provide the town and surrounding area with a modern, vibrant estate agency.

Richard has been working within estate agency for the last 16 years. Originally from Presteigne, he is married to Lucy who have both moved back to the area after living and working in Hereford. An avid supporter of Bolton Wanderers (we all have our flaws) Richard is half Dutch and wanted to be a Rockstar when he was younger! Being an estate agent is close enough.

Ceri was born and bred in Abergavenny. After 25 years working in the motor trade, she joined team James Dean in 2022 and is enjoying the fast paced and exciting life of an estate agents. Ceri is a lover of all animals and volunteers for the Hedgehog Helpline Charity which rescues and rehabilitates poorly Hedgehogs. She also enjoys baking, gardening and has become James Deans social sec!

Caroline has lived in Brecon all her life and has two grown up daughters and one big kid, her husband Mark. Caroline has recently received a level 3 diploma in management and has taken to estate agency like a duck to water. A bubbly character, she is a huge rugby fan, enjoys socialising and is always up for a challenge.

Joseph has lived in Builth for most of his life and after completing his studies in England, he returned to the area in 2019 and started the next chapter of his life with his wife Allanah. They bought their first home in 2022 and have two children, Theodore and Aurelia. Joseph works between the Brecon and Builth Wells office where he takes on both sales and lettings work. Joseph did two seasons abroad teaching children extreme water sports such as white water kayaking and gorge walking and is a huge Disney World fan!

Kelly has worked in the estate agency business for 23 years, with her love for properties starting at the age of 19! Working locally within the Abergavenny and surrounding areas she has a wealth of knowledge and she works between our Abergavenny and Brecon offices. Kelly has two teenage children who take up most of her free time, but when not being a mum Kelly enjoys running and baking cakes.

Ffion has lived in the Builth Wells area her whole life and is an active member of YFC. She is a keen sports woman playing hockey for Radnor Ladies as well as competing in gymnastics. She is also a level 2 gymnastics coach. Ffion likes to socialise and loves to bake!

Gwyneth joined James Dean in 2016 and looks after the administration and survey department based in the Builth Wells Office. She is married to local farmer Clive and is kept busy with her two boys and as secretary to the Llanafanfawr Show. In her spare time she enjoys cooking, gardening and wine making so is very popular within the office.
